Religious differences have caused conflicts in the world, both historically and in the present day. Therefore, it seems important to understand the nature of a person's relationship to religious belief. Sigmund Freud viewed religion as a collective neurosis stemming from repressed infantile desires, particularly the Oedipus complex. Carl Jung, on the other hand, believed that religion plays a significant role in shaping people's psychology, viewing it as an important aspect of the human psyche and a crucial tool for individuation. He saw religion as a symbolic expression of life's meaning and a way to connect with the unconscious.
